Climate Focus

At ICANIWILL, we care about the planet we live on and want to make sure that we preserve it so it can meet the needs of future generations. In order to do so we need to take action to make sure we limit global warming to a maximum of 1.5˚C above pre-industrial levels.


Therefore, we’ve set ambitious climate targets in order to reduce our emissions and create a more sustainable clothing industry.

Climate Mapping

Change starts with knowledge. That’s why we, together with climate strategists at ZeroMission mapped all relevant activities that generate CO2 emissions from our value chain. This was done in line with the GHG Protocol Corporate Standards, including scopes 1,2 and 3 in their entirety, where:

Scope 1: include direct emissions from owned or controlled sources

Scope 2: include indirect emissions from purchased electricity, heating, and cooling

Scope 3: include indirect emissions from all other upstream and downstream activities in our value chain from product manufacturing to delivery to consumers.

Climate Compensation

Though we want to act fast, change takes time. That’s why we are determined to compensate all our calculated emissions while working towards our long-term goals. Earlier this year we offset 100% of our calculated 2020 emissions from all scopes by purchasing carbon credits.

The proceeds from the carbon credits are invested into PlanVivo’s Scolel’te project which contributes to agroforestry, afforestation and reforestation in Mexico while providing social, environmental and economic benefits for local communities.

Climate Strategy

While climate compensation is important, we also need to decrease overall CO2 emissions to battle the ongoing environmental crisis. We therefore also set up a Climate Strategy in line with scientific research to limit global warming to 1.5 C above pre-industrial levels.

We have goals to reduce our absolute emissions in scope 1 & 2 by 20% each by 2025 and to reduce our scope 3 emissions by 30% per unit of Gross Profit by 2025. This is translated to a more comprehensible goal to reduce our emissions by 35% per product sold by 2025.

Climate Actions

To reach our 2025 Climate goals, concrete actions need to be taken.

Important actions on our roadmap are:

  • increase supply chain traceability
  • shift to recycled and more sustainable materials
  • decrease flight transport of products from the factories to our warehouse
  • shift to 100% renewable energy and heating in all premises (in Sweden as well as in our tier 1 supplier factories)
