OUR COMMITMENT

Sustainability has been an important topic at ICANIWILL since its start in 2015. We are aware of the challenges the fashion industry faces and want to take part in finding solutions for a more sustainable future.

During 2021, we accelerated our climate work, with the goal of reducing our CO2 emissions to control our environmental footprint while continuing to grow our business. Together with climate strategists at ZeroMission, we measured our CO2 emissions from all activities in our value chain. The calculation was based on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Standard and included all significant emission categories. With this new knowledge as baseline, we set ambitious targets, in line with scientific research, to reduce our emissions going forward.

We also offset 100% of our 2020 emissions, through the Plan Vivo project Scolel’te, which contributes to agroforestry, afforestation and reforestation in Mexico while providing social, environmental, and economic benefits for local communities. We are now therefore a fully climate compensated business, and commit to compensating all unavoidable emissions in the years to come.

Here are some initiatives we are taking to make sure we work towards more sustainable solutions in all parts of our business.

PRODUCTS

Our products are intentionally designed with the mindset that they should not go out of fashion in the years to come. We produce timeless designs and focus on the quality and functionality of the products to prolong their lifespan.

We also produce the majority of our products with seamless technology. On top of being extra comfortable, seamless products are more sustainable than traditional cut and sew products as they are made to exact specifications and therefore eliminate all waste.

Our sustainability efforts have also led to a collection made of recycled materials, the Ocean Collection, launched in January 2021. The materials are entirely made from recycled plastic from our oceans. We are proud to have launched this collection which proved very popular amongst our customers and ambassadors. We look forward to launching more products and collections with sustainable materials.

PRODUCERS & PRODUCTION

We work closely with our carefully selected producers around the world. Together we work to constantly improve materials, products, production processes and work conditions in the factories. Our Supplier Code of Conduct, specifically tailored to our demands, helps us structure this improvement. It ensures that our suppliers respect human rights, labor rights, workplace conditions and environmental protection according to the UN Global Compact’s Ten Principles.

Suppliers are also forbidden from using hazardous chemicals and substances listed by the European Union Directive, REACH, and must reach the minimum requirements in the Sweden Textile Water Initiative (STWI) guidelines.

The demands are controlled by third party audits and we work together with our suppliers to make sure they have the knowledge and capacity to comply with our Code of Conduct. We also aim to visit the factories ourselves at least once a year to build on the relationships with our suppliers.

TRANSPORT OF PRODUCTS

There has been an active shift in shipping methods from 2019 to 2020. During 2020, we reduced the share of products that were shipped to our warehouse by flight by 70% as an effort to reduce our carbon footprint. We have ambitious plans to reduce this by another 60% during 2021.

PREMISES

Sustainability is just as important in our premises as in our production. We therefore use clean, renewable electricity marked with Good Environmental Choice (Bra Miljöval) as well as climate neutral heating in our offices to ensure minimum indirect emissions from the purchase of energy we use.

DELIVERY

As an e-commerce brand, we are aware of the environmental impact of deliveries and therefore work closely with our delivery partners to find the most sustainable delivery alternatives.

Bring - All parcel, home, and courier deliveries from Bring’s terminals are fossil-free in Stockholm, Malmö, Göteborg and Linköping. Bring also works to phase out fossil vehicles in other cities and is part of the cross-industry collaboration Älskade Stad, that acts as a driver for more sustainable environmental alternatives that benefit a vibrant urban environment.

Budbee - Every Budbee delivery is climate compensated, and all parcel deliveries are fossil-free in bigger cities. Budbee has also led other green initiatives, like designing green terminals, installing fossil-free fuel stations at the terminals and contracting more cargo bikes in all markets. You can read more about Budbee’s sustainability work HERE.

DHL Express - All our shipments with DHL Express are climate neutral. By using DHL GOGREEN we invest in climate protection projects in various regions across the globe, supporting a mix of projects in the categories of "energy efficiency", "renewable energy" and "reforestation/afforestation". DHL insists on high standards and the selected climate protection projects are based on their value for both the environment and the local communities. Environmental protection is high on DHL:s agenda with an am bitious environmental target of zero emissions by 2050. Read more about DHL’s sustainable initiatives HERE.

DHL Freight - We use SkickaGrönt for all shipments with DHL Freight. SkickaGrönt is a climate-smart option that helps increase the shift towards more climate friendly vehicles within the Swedish transport network. Every time you choose DHL SkickaGrönt, DHL produces corresponding ton-kilometers with climate friendly technology and/or renewable fuels in the Swedish transport network. Posti - Sustainability is a key component of Posti’s business strategy. Posti was the world’s first 100% carbon neutral postal service and all of Posti’s products are 100% carbon neutral. For more information about Posti’s sustainability work click HERE.

PostNord - Shipments with PostNord myPack are climate compensated and contribute to a shift toward renewable energy by investing in energy- and climate-saving projects in developing countries. This is done through UN certified CDM projects (Clean Development Mechanism). PostNord deliveries are also fossil-free in parts of the bigger cities in Sweden and PostNord is working towards becoming fossil-free by 2030.
